Having lost most of my family members
This was so very "touching"...
I "lost" my brother on 10-24-69 On his Birthday !
His friend was drinking & he left and we never saw him
alive again.
All wounds heal with time however...
Most wounds leave scars ;-(

There are no word to excuse a drunkards actions in FOLLY, nor is there a way to replace the everlasting mark on peoples lives. When my oldest daughter was 4 mos. old('82), my mother was returning a friend(a fostered child/sister) and her 5 yr. old to their home after dinner and was driving the freeway when they came up on a knoll where a bobtail truck was stalled in the slow lane w/no lights on. My mother's reaction to veer to miss the truck ended with the top of her car sheered off, her w/ a broken neck, friend w/lacerations on her face, and Ryan was dead. The driver of the truck was cited for drunkeness ...he was sitting on the side of the freeway. Most horrific(for me), and difficult for my brothers was the doctor's statement,to us, that mother's alcohol blood level was very high...My mother continues to be a practicing alcoholic...My children are never allowed to visit her alone since I learned my mother drives drunk with children in the car... May God continue to be a source of strength to you. I know one never forgets or completely overcomes the loss. Anna Chounet |
